Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi
The Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi is challenging persons with any
evidence of corruption against the football governing body to resort to
the court for redress. The FA’s credibility was hugely doubted by many following the Black Stars’ participation in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where top officials of the association have been indicted for embezzlement.
Following the re-election of Nyantakyi in Tamale, the CAF Executive Committee member has described the corruption tag around his outfit’s neck as an erroneous impression held by some football fans in Ghana.
“The perception of corruption is a problem and a challenge not only to the football association but other state institutions also suffer same criticisms,” Nyantakyi toldStarr Sports.
“We have always stated that we are law abiding and not above the law. If anybody has evidence of corruption against the FA or any official of the FA let the person place the law.
“We are not saying that corruption should be swept under the carpet. Corruption is not a good thing and we are against it but once it remains a perception it will continue like that until the necessary evidence is produced and the law is asked to take its course.”
