NPP plotting “agenda” with new Voters register call – Ofosu Ampofo

First vice chair of the NDC Samuel Ofosu Ampofo
The first vice chair of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has stated that the opposition New Patriotic Party has an “agenda” behind their persistent call for a new voters register for the 2016 elections.

According to him, the desperate approach the NPP is resorting to in pushing for the change is worrying.

Flagbearer of the main opposition party Nana Akufo-Addo will today Tuesday, August 18 address the media on the reasons behind the party’s call for a new register. He will also be canvassing for a national support for their call.

But speaking to Kafui Dey on the Morning Starr Tuesday, the former local government minister said the call by the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition is misplaced.

“In all the processes that led to the creation of this current register, the NPP and all other political parties were actively involved. So I am at a lost that the NPP who participated actively in all the processes will turn around and describe the register as unsuitable for the next elections.

“If they don’t have any agenda; then I am surprised that they are doing this. If they don’t have any agenda, then I don’t know why they think that this register is not good for the elections. People just want to foul and charge the atmosphere for nothing and I think that we must be very careful,” the former National Organizer of the NDC stated.
