Kombian’s lawyers to appeal death sentence

Notorious criminal Johnson Kombian has instructed his lawyers to appeal his death sentence, Starr News can confirm.

An Accra Fast Track High Court sentenced Kombian to death by hanging after he was found guilty of murdering two police officers and injuring another.

Kombian carried out the act in 2010 after he broke jail in Nakpanduri.

Lawyer for Kombian, George Asomani in an interview with Starr News said the verdict cannot be justified.

“He [Kombian] has given instructions to launch an appeal against the judgment because he still maintains his innocence and he thinks the judgment was not right.

“In any case the sentence of death by hanging is harsh, excessive and out of date,” Asomani said.
