Police Ready For District Assembly Elections

The Ghana Police Service has assured the general public that the requisite security arrangement has been put in place to monitor the upcoming district level elections scheduled for September 1.

The measures cover periods before, during and after the electoral process.

These were contained in a press statement signed and issued by the Director-General, Public Affairs, DCOP Rev David Ampah Bennin.

According to the release, a combined team of personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service and Ghana Immigration Service have been deployed to various polling stations and locations to maintain law and order for the peaceful conduct of the elections.

The general public is, hereby, called upon to co-operate with the police and the other security agencies to ensure a peaceful and successful process.

Members of the public are further entreated to observe the electoral laws and respect the laid-down procedures in seeking redress for their concerns.

Meanwhile, the police would like to caution the public to desist from any act that could jeopardise the smooth conduct of the election.
