The New Juaben Municipal Police command has arrested two suspected armed
robbers who allegedly slashed the throat of an MTN mobile Money vendor,
after robbing him and two others at gun point.
The incident occurred at Baatsona in Accra last Friday.
The suspects, according to sources, went to the vendors under the
guise of withdrawing money from their MTN accounts but ended up
attacking and stealing money transfer codes from them.
The robbers, believed to be Nigerians and living in Koforidua in the
Eastern region, were arrested on Monday upon their return when they
attempted to withdraw the monies with the accounts they had stolen.
They have been transferred to the Atomic Police station in Accra for further investigations.
