Mr
Gordon Nyamade, the General Manager of Anita Hotel, has called on the
Ghana Tourism Authority to initiate measures for management of hotel
facilities to promote local Ghanaian dishes in their menu.
He said when these measures are adopted, it would help in the drive to promote tourism through gastronomy.
Mr Nyamade, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said the
introduction of local foods to international visitors was a way of
exporting the culture of the people to other cultures.
He also
called on hoteliers to pay particular attention to effective customer
service to enhance the growth and development of their businesses.
"Service is very important and if your service is poor, customers may never patronise your facilities," he said.
He said as part of efforts to improve on their customer service
delivery, staff of the hotel undergo monthly training to conform to the
required regulations.
The General Manager said they were
planning to construct a modern entertainment centre, which will include
facilities such as cultural park, volleyball pitch, children playing
grounds and an entertainment square.
He said by the end of the year, these projects would be completed to serve tourists in the Ashanti Region and its environs.
He said as a player in the tourism industry, management wanted to stay
abreast with modern trends and development in the industry to handle
clients better. |
